Usually, the case is that a DLL file required to run iTunes was not found or is corrupt. This could happen when you improperly shutdown your computer, forcefully end tasks, incomplete uninstalation of programs, and have malware in your computer.
Getting Rid Of The iTunes Error 7 (1114 on Windows)
1. First, scan your computer with an updated anti-virus software to remove viruses.
2. Now you are going to do some house cleaning. If you are paranoid about losing your iTunes data e.g music (although this won’t happen if you do it correctly), copy the iTunes music folder to another location e.g desktop.
3. Navigate to Control Panel > Uninstall Programs or Control panel > Add and Remove programs. Then uninstall the following programs in the order which they appear below (important):
- iTunes
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- iCloud (if available)
- Mobile Me (if available)
- Bonjour (if available)
- Apple Application Support
4. Download the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website. Then install iTunes all over again.
5. If done correctly, your iTunes data should remain intact. If not, and you copied them to another location, replace the new folders with the one containing your data.
