How To Find iPhone UDID Without iTunes or Computer

Ever wanted to check the UDID for your iPad or iPhone? It’s easy. In this article, I will show you methods of checking UDID on any iOS device including the traditional means as well as finding it without using a computer or even iTunes.

What is a UDID?

First, UDID means Unique Device IDentification, and it serves as an identifier for your device. All iOS devices from the iPhone to the iPad to the iPod Touch have a UDID. An iOS UDID number is alphanumeric (contains numbers and letters) and is 40 characters long.

What Is a UDID Used For? / Why Do You Need a UDID?

You may need a UDID if you have been asked to try out an unreleased app before it is approved into the Apple app store. One typical case is when Apple releases a beta version of a new iOS for iOS developers to test and review; only UDID numbers of registered app testers / reviewers will be accepted, this is why many iPhone owners look for ways to download iOS beta releases without using a UDID.
In any case, whether you are an iOS app developer or not, just hold on to the fact that your iPhone has a unique code which it can be identified with.

Find UDID Without Computer / Check UDID Without iTunes Using an iPhone or iPad

Before iOS 7, it was possible to check your UDID directly from your iOS device with the help of third party apps; those apps are deprecated and don’t work any more. But as with essential necessities, there is always a way. This method does not require you to connect your phone to a computer, you do not even need iTunes. Here it is:

1. Using your iOS device (the one whose UDID you would like to check), launch the Safari browser, then visit http://www.easy-udid.com

2. You should see a big blue button that says “Get my UDID” on the center of the page. If you cannot see the button it means the page cannot detect an iOs device and you would see this text instead “In order to obtain your UDID, you need to connect to this page with your iOS Device”. You should use the default browser of your device which is Safari.

3. Tap on the Get my UDID button. It would open up your phone settings and attempt to install a new profile (UDID Helper). Click on the Install button, then choose Install Now.

4. After installing, you will be redirected back to Safari where your UDID number, Serial number and Product version will be displayed on the web page.
What actually happens here is that the UDID Helper will install a certificate called QILIN on your device. The certificate then grabs your iPhone or iPad information, sends it to the browser, then self deletes.
